One thing most folks don't like to do is ask for help.  We're all guilty of this.  We don't want to show weakness, or somehow it was drilled into our heads that we must be able to handle everything ourselves.

Women are certainly under immense pressure, or so it seems to me, to prove they (you) can do it yourself, or at least without the help of some man.

Even little kids prefer to, "do it myself, Mommie!"  We grow up with an attitude and a common expectation of self-reliance. In fact, we are often told by teachers, parents, and others, "no one is going to help you but yourself."

Sometimes we're self-reliant.  Sometimes, I fear, we are self-destructive.
