Christmas Eve "Welcome Home"

Welcome Home.
This is a very special night, and I am so glad we have all gathered here this evening. Those of you watching the video of this service, let me also welcome you, and say, “good morning and Merry Christmas.”
The message of Christmas is a message of joy. “For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
That is the reason we are gathered here tonight. That’s the message an angel brought to poor shepherds working in the fields. In Luke 2 we are reminded that this is good news of great joy for all the people.
That’s us, too.

We are here to welcome and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, and to remember the promise, as well, that He will come again.
Welcome Home.
The shopping is done.
The cards are all in the mail.
I hope the hard work of your Christmas is done.
You can relax, for the next few minutes anyway. You can worship as we receive the elements of Holy Communion in a few minutes.
If you are tired of all the hustle, bustle, commercialism, headaches and worries, can you let this night/this message be the start of helping you recall and rediscover the true meaning of Christmas?
I hope so.
